Kettler Capitals Iceplex offers various programs for figure skaters, including a wide variety of freestyle sessions, adult only freestyle sessions, synchronized skating teams, Jump, spin, Ice Dance and Stroking Classes. KCI has a large qualified staff of professionals, including National, Olympic and World level coaches. To enhance our USFS Learn to Skate program, we wil be holding a yearly USFS competition at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. The Iceplex also houses many USFS competitive figure skaters and the Washington Figure Skating Club will be holding various events at the facility.

Skaters must be USFS Freeskate level 1 or higher in order to skate on the freestyle sessions. Freestyle cards and pick-up sessions can be purchased at the front desk and all skaters need to sign a waiver annually to keep on record at the facility. Use the monthly calendar to see the detailed freestyle schedule

Kettler Capitals Iceplex would like to thank Holly Eisenhour for her years of service as the skating director.  Holly is moving to Raleigh, NC to start a new chapter in her life.  Holly was instrumental in the opening of Kettler Capitals Iceplex and the development of all our skating programs.  She will be greatly missed by the Kettler staff, the skating community, and her many students.  Good luck, Holly!

We would like to welcome Lori Cervinka-McHugh as our new Skating Director.  Lori grew up skating on the North Shore of Chicago. She had great success competing in both ISI and USFS.  After majoring in Theater/ Voice at The University of Kansas, Lori was able to combine her love of performing with her skating and toured with Disney on Ice.  Since then, Lori has been coaching all over the world including running her own skating school for English speaking children in The Netherlands. Most recently she has taught skating at Kettler Capitals Iceplex and the Ashburn Ice House. Lori would tell you her greatest accomplishment is being the mother to six children.

Lori Cervinka-McHugh will be starting as Skating Director next week.  Be sure to introduce yourself when you see her around the rink.
